Fleet Safety Tip of the Week: Recognizing and Preventing the Threat of a Vehicle Fire
Your fleet drivers need to know how to prevent a vehicle fire, how to recognize the warning signs of fire, and how to respond if their vehicle ever does catch fire. Here's a link to access advice on these subjects from the National Fire Protection Association.
Vehicles can catch fire for a variety of reasons. The most common causes are mechanical and electrical issues. On rare occasions, a severe collision will result in a fire. If a driver sees smoke or flames, or smells burning rubber or plastic, he or she needs to respond immediately.
