The Fleet Remarketing Industry Council has been formed by Bobit Business Media Inc. (BBM) Owner and CEO Colin Sutherland.
“During my telematics career, where data from vehicles is measured, I have seen the benefits business owners receive when actioning information, including safe, accident-free trips, routinely maintained equipment, and electric vehicle battery health monitoring. What I have not seen is how these fleet owned vehicles are identified for resale at a premium value,” Sutherland said. “With the formation of the Fleet Remarketing Industry Council, fleet partners and solution providers across our automotive dealer and fleet business ecosystems are encouraged to engage in a common purpose to develop value that extends beyond the original ownership through to the secondary buyer.”
“At BBM, we not only write about the industries we serve, but our employees are aligned with our readers and partners to engage in the overall advancement of industry concerns and needs. What makes our expertise uniquely suited to lead the Fleet Remarketing Industry Council is our depth of trust in the automotive dealer, fleet, and car rental ecosystems,” Sutherland said.
Sutherland will serve as President of the Fleet Remarketing Industry Council. Nominations to join an Executive Steering Committee will be open following the Welcome and Information Reception at the Fleet Forward Conference on October 20, 2025.
Nominations will welcome voices from the entire fleet community who want to:
Shape the future of value identification.
Help define what value means.
Explore how to capture and certify value.
Create products, such as extended warranties, that transfer to secondary owners and deliver lasting value.
“I have worked alongside interested stakeholders for years in my career, including fleet managers, business owners, OEMs, fleet management partners, telematics partners, vision system partners, damage inspection partners, title and registration partners, vehicle movement and auction partners, consigners, warranty, and insurance partners,” Sutherland said. “Our group includes your voice, your opinion, your vision, and together, we’ll create data-driven value.”
Fleet Managers wanting to attend the Fleet Remarketing Industry Council reception at Fleet Forward Conference will receive a special registration code to join their voice and to be heard. Email info@fleetremarketing.org for more information.
Registration for the Fleet Forward Conference is open at www.fleetforwardconference.com.
Nominations for the 2026 Conference of Automotive Remarketing Consignor and Remarketer of the Year Awards will be open on October 20, 2025. New awards recognizing excellence in Fleet Remarketing will be announced during Fleet Forward Conference.
