Fleet managers who oversee more than 150,000 pieces of equipment attended a 2014 User Group meeting hosted by fleet management software provider Chevin Fleet Solutions.
The event took place at the Sheraton Suites in Chicago and attracted clients from coast to coast including municipalities, automotive manufacturers, utilities, insurance companies, van pool service providers and equipment rental companies.
Subjects tackled included a range of topics from fleet utilization and replacement modeling, preventive maintenance scheduling, data management and reporting, system integration, as well as mobile and remote data collection.
"The User Group is an excellent way for our clients to share ideas and their best practices on how technology can be applied to drive out inefficiencies and more effectively manage their fleets through information rather than instinct," said Ron Katz, Chevin's senior vice president of North American sales.
"This event was better than ever with dozens of excellent ideas discussed that really made me proud of the caliber of fleet managers and organizations that we work with," Katz said. "As one client said to me, 'It was a real pleasure to share in this collaboration of thoughts with such a diverse group of companies.'"
Clients that attended the User Group meeting all use Chevin's Web-based enterprise fleet management information system, FleetWave, to manage their fleets, the same system that has been adopted by fleets managing more than 800,000 fleet vehicles around the world.
