“RTA has been a leader in fleet management software for over four decades,” Saltzgiver said. “During that time, I’ve had the opportunity to work with the RTA management team along with many of its system users. I’m very excited to become part of this incredible RTA team.”

Most recently, Saltzgiver was a fleet management consultant with Mercury Associates. Prior to that, he served as a vice president of two Fortune 500 fleets, Coca-Cola and Republic Services. He was also a former director of two large state fleets in Utah and Georgia.

“I had the privilege of meeting Steve three years ago at NAFA,” RTA CEO Josh Turley said. “If you had told me then I would have the opportunity to work alongside him, I would have gotten a little starry eyed. I'm elated to have someone of his caliber and character represent RTA, and incredibly excited about the influence he will have for our clients and our product, by helping us apply tomorrow's technology to the jobs fleet managers need done today. This is another testament to the energy and momentum we have building at RTA, and I'm grateful he's going to be a part of it!”

Throughout his career, Saltzgiver has been recognized for his achievements in data analysis, benchmarking, cost reductions, sustainable fleet planning and telematics deployment. He has also served on many organizations, including NAFA’s Board of Directors. Saltzgiver previously served as the NAFA Curriculum and Governmental Affairs Chair, RMFMA Board Chair, National Conference of State Fleet Administrators (NCSFA) Executive Director and President, and on several industry supplier boards.

Saltzgiver was twice nominated for Automotive Fleet magazine’s Fleet Manager of the Year award, and is the recipient of the 2000 Honda Environmental Leadership (State Government) award, 2005 NCSFA Distinguished Service award and the 2015 Fleet Technology Expo Sustainabile Fleet of the Year award. In 2017, he was inducted into the Government Fleet Hall of Fame and received the Legendary Lifetime Achievement Award for his career in fleet management.
