Final Push for Federal EV Incentives Highlighted at Fleet Forward Tour NJ Stop

Fleet managers in the Northeast will have a timely opportunity to take action on electric vehicle purchases at the upcoming Fleet Forward Tour stop in Somerset, NJ, on Sept. 9.

At the 2025 Fleet Forward Tour stop in Somerset, NJ on Sept. 9, representatives from Clean Cities and Calstart will be on hand to help fleets navigate the federal $7,500 commercial EV incentive (Section 30D under the IRA) and up to $40,000 for vehicles with a GVWR of 14,000 or more (45w). The credits expire Sept. 30.  

Attendees will get direct guidance on how to leverage the incentive before the deadline, including how to engage with automakers’ fleet representatives, who will also be present to assist with order facilitation and product details.

“This is a unique window where the clock is ticking,” said Chris Brown, associate publisher of Automotive Fleet and event chair. “Fleets interested in securing EV funding should treat this stop as a hands-on resource to accelerate those conversations and move forward with orders.”

The day begins with opening remarks from representatives of Calstart and Clean Cities.  

The Ride & Drive and OEM Showcase follow, where attendees can test-drive EVs, talk to automaker reps, and explore emerging tech solutions. From there, a packed educational lineup includes:

  • Deploying Electric Trucks at Scale, featuring Keith Kerman of NYC DCAS, offering lessons from the largest municipal EV fleet on the East Coast.
