Final Push for Federal EV Incentives Highlighted at Fleet Forward Tour NJ Stop
Fleet managers in the Northeast will have a timely opportunity to take action on electric vehicle purchases at the upcoming Fleet Forward Tour stop in Somerset, NJ, on Sept. 9.

Event stops marked in Irvine (July 22) and Somerset (Sept 9) are key opportunities for fleet operators to act before incentives disappear. This represents $7,500 for new vehicles (Sec. 30D) and up to $40,000 for commercial EVs (Sec. 45W).

At the 2025 Fleet Forward Tour stop in Somerset, NJ on Sept. 9, representatives from Clean Cities and Calstart will be on hand to help fleets navigate the federal $7,500 commercial EV incentive (Section 30D under the IRA) and up to $40,000 for vehicles with a GVWR of 14,000 or more (45w). The credits expire Sept. 30.
Attendees will get direct guidance on how to leverage the incentive before the deadline, including how to engage with automakers’ fleet representatives, who will also be present to assist with order facilitation and product details.
“This is a unique window where the clock is ticking,” said Chris Brown, associate publisher of Automotive Fleet and event chair. “Fleets interested in securing EV funding should treat this stop as a hands-on resource to accelerate those conversations and move forward with orders.”
In addition to the incentive-focused segment, the Somerset stop will feature this timely session:
