Distracted driving continues to be one of the most dangerous and costly challenges facing fleets — and addressing it takes more than policies, training videos, and occasional reminders. At the Fleet Forward Conference, Oct. 21–23 in San Diego, join this Fleet Safety Masterclass for a rare opportunity to learn from two of the most respected voices in fleet safety today.

Eric Richardson, 2023 Fleet Safety Award winner and former member of New York City’s DCAS fleet team — one of the largest public fleets in the nation — has built a reputation for combining operational expertise with a deeply personal mission. Drawing from his experience working with victims of distracted driving, Richardson will share how storytelling can break through driver complacency and create an emotional connection that fosters safer behavior on the road.

Joining Richardson is John Wuich, vice president of strategic consulting services at Wheels, who brings more than two decades of fleet consulting experience. Wuich will showcase data-driven safety programs, predictive analytics, and practical strategies that use real-world risk insights to detect, deter, and prevent driver distraction.

Together, they will walk attendees through actionable tactics — from leveraging technology to building safety culture — that can be implemented immediately in any fleet. Participants will leave with both a fresh perspective on behavior change and practical tools for reducing risk behind the wheel.
