FCA Replacing Compass/Patriot With New Compact Jeep
FCA US will replace the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot with a new compact SUV that will be built in Mexico and launch later this year, FCA sources told AutomotiveFleet.com.
FCA US will replace the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot with a new compact SUV that will be built in Mexico and launch later this year, FCA sources told AutomotiveFleet.com.
The 2016 model year will be the final model year for the Compass and Patriot, said Ralph Kisiel, an FCA spokesman. The new compact SUV has been referred to internally as the C-SUV Jeep and will debut as a 2017 model-year vehicle.

Production of the Compass and Patriot will cease in December at the Toledo Assembly Complex to make way to expand production of the Wrangler in Ohio. FCA is also shifting production of the Jeep Cherokee from Ohio to its Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois.
FCA will continue to provide parts for the discontinued vehicles for up to 10 years through the Mopar distribution network. The availability of safety recall parts generally extends beyond that point, according to a Mopar spokesman.
