FCA Investing $1B to Expand Jeep Production
FCA US is investing $1 billion in two assembly plants in Ohio and Illinois to support planned growth of its Jeep brand, the company announced.

FCA US is investing $1 billion in two assembly plants in Ohio and Illinois to support planned growth of its Jeep brand, the company announced.
FCA is shifting production of the Jeep Cherokee to its Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois from current production in Toledo, Ohio. The plant will receive $350 million, which will create 300 new jobs. FCA will cease production at the plant of the Dodge Dart in September. The plant will cease production of the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot in December.
FCA will also invest $700 million in the Toledo Assembly Complex to retool the North plant to produce the next generation of the Jeep Wrangler. The plant will add 700 new jobs.
Since 2009, FCA US has announced investments of more than $6.8 billion and added more than 23,500 (including nearly 18,000 hourly) people in its U.S. operations.
