SAN DIEGO– Tom Fisher, chief information officer of DriveCam Inc., a global driver risk management company, has been named a Technology Executive of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal and Cox Business. Fisher was selected as one of 12 honorees, out of 30 award finalists. The executives were honored at an awards ceremony at the San Diego Marriot & Marina Hotel April 23.

The event marked the first annual Technology Executive of the Year awards, which recognize the most outstanding technology executives who work in San Diego, as nominated by employees or clients.

DriveCam reduces claims costs and save lives by improving the way people drive. Fisher's innovative ideas continue to provide new opportunities for the company.

Fisher brings more than 25 years of leadership and IT experience to DriveCam, previously holding positions with Qualcomm, eBay, Gateway Computers, and IBM. He is also active with a number of leading venture capital firms, including Clearstone Capital, Foundation Capital, JMI, and Odyssey/Sail Venture Partners. Fisher graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he serves on the board of advisors for the College of Computing and Informatics.
