Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd.'s Toyo A23 tire has been selected as the original equipment tire for the FCA US LLC's Dodge Journey mid-size SUV, reports Modern Tire Dealer. This is the first use of a Toyo tire as original equipment on a North American-made vehicle from FCA, formerly Chrysler.
The Toyo A23 combines quiet and ride comfort with excellent fuel economy, while also delivering snowy road handling as an all-season tire on the Dodge Journey, according to Toyo. The vehicle will be outfitted with P225/55R19 99V tires. Delivery began in November 2014.
In its new mid-term 2014 business plan, Toyo says it has committed to further bolstering the positioning of its tires for SUVs, CUVs and pickup trucks.
FCA US LLC is the new name of Chrysler Group LLC. The name change was effective Dec. 15, and follows the naming convention of the global parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V.
