AUBURN HILLS, MI — The 2006 Dodge Charger has received the government’s highest rating for frontal-impact crash protection from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Dodge Charger's five-star rating for frontal-crash protection makes it the 10th new product from Chrysler Group to achieve the top-safety rating. The 2006 Dodge Charger’s active safety technology includes Standard Electronic Stability, an all-speed traction control system, and a four-wheel anti-lock brake system. Those accident avoidance features also are coupled with a host of passive safety equipment. Starting with the Chrysler Pacifica in 2003, Chrysler Group has had a string of 10 product launches that produced NHTSA-rated five-star vehicles for frontal crash protection. These vehicles include: Chrysler Pacifica, Chrysler and Dodge minivans, Dodge Durango, Dodge Ram 1500, Dodge Ram Quad, Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Dakota, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Dodge Charger. The 2006 Dodge Charger is manufactured at the Brampton Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The 2006 Dodge Charger joins the Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300 vehicles, which also are built in Brampton.
