Diesel prices dropped steeply in all regions of the country. On the East Coast, the average slumped 15.6 cents to $3.553 per gallon. Tumbling 19.4 cents, the price in the Midwest fell the most of any region, to $3.447 per gallon.
The average diesel price in the Gulf Coast sank 17.8 cents to $3.453 per gallon. The price in the Rocky Mountains dropped 14.2 cents to $3.555 per gallon, EIA said. The price on the West Coast remained the lowest average price of any region, plunging 18.9 cents to $3.433 per gallon. In California, the average diesel price shrank by 19.6 cents to $3.46 per gallon.
Fuel prices have risen in all 50 states, with the average increasing by almost 39 cents.
