WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The U.S. average diesel price plunged 17.7 cents to $3.482 per gallon, the lowest price since Feb. 18 of this year, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its weekly report issued Oct. 22.
Diesel prices dropped steeply in all regions of the country. On the East Coast, the average slumped 15.6 cents to $3.553 per gallon. Tumbling 19.4 cents, the price in the Midwest fell the most of any region, to $3.447 per gallon.
