The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) and Awareness to Action Coaching are teaming up to develop a new program designed to boost the careers of younger Millennial and Gen Z remarketers and build bench strength for future industry leadership.

Called Hand Up, the program aims to create career-enhancing connections for new remarketers, or those who are looking to take the next step toward industry leadership.

The two organizations signed a letter of intent this week to collaborate on the program. Planning is underway and they expect development of the pilot initiative to take several months. The first few enrollees will be invited to participate in Hand Up during the second half of 2024.

“The primary concept behind Hand Up is straightforward,” said Joe Miller, success coach and founder of Awareness to Action Coaching, in a Feb. 13 news release. “Our aim is to create a new framework that connects the next generation of remarketing leadership with today’s established leaders. This will be a new resource for the greater good of the industry.”

Added IARA executive director Mark Coleman: “While we’re still in the early stages of planning, I am thrilled to be partnering with Joe and Awareness to Action to develop this pilot initiative.”

As part of its effort to engage generations of younger professionals, the IARA also will be hosting a general session panel at the Conference of Automotive Remarketing titled, From Boomers to Gen Z: Generational Approaches to Work, Communication, and Remarketing on March 27.

“There’s broad awareness in our industry that generational leadership changes are on the horizon,” said IARA President Doug Turner. “The IARA will help to lead that transition by partnering with Joe and Awareness to Action to assist the next generation of remarketing leaders.”
