WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The national average price of regular gasoline dropped 11.2 cents to $1.699 per gallon, $1.301 below the price a year ago and the lowest price since Feb. 23, 2004, according to the Energy Information Administration's weekly report issued Dec. 10.
The price was $2.415 below the all-time high set on July 7 of this year. The average price on the East Coast slipped 10.3 cents to $1.757 per gallon. At $1.602 per gallon, the price in the Midwest remained the lowest of any region.
