Atlanta-based DataScan Technologies, LLC has acquired Vehicle Inspection Services, Inc. (VIS), a full-service vehicle inspection company. DataScan, a provider of wholesale floorplan finance accounting and risk management systems and services, performs floorplan audits for banks, captives and other financial institutions throughout the U.S. The acquisition will allow DataScan to offer a wider range of field services. Located in Solon, Ohio, VIS operates a nationwide network of field inspectors performing vehicle inspections for major auto manufacturers, banks, leasing companies, warranty companies, and contract service administrators throughout the U.S. and Canada. Some of the services include off-lease vehicle inspections, physical damage inspections, commercial fleet inspections, mechanical inspections, pre-warranty inspections, and certified used vehicle inspections. VIS utilizes Internet-based technology and operates on a proprietary platform.
