Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS), a provider of vehicle relocation services, announced the deployment of a new order and service management system. DASSTAR manages the entire vehicle relocation process from the point of sale, to dispatch, to customer service, and final delivery.

The heart of DASSTAR is its traffic optimization module, appropriately named DASOpt. DASOpt considers the current positions of all DAS Trucks (via GPS) and customer vehicles, then produces a plan to get all of those vehicles to their intended destination in the fastest, most efficient, and cost effective way possible. This translates into shorter transit times and lower costs for DAS customers.

DASSTAR also includes Web service technology that enables DAS to electronically exchange information with business partners such as corporate relocation firms, ocean carriers, and local towing companies so that the current disposition of every customer’s vehicle is accurate and real-time.
