Copart Inc. has opened a green-field location to serve Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area. The Harrisburg location is approximately 25 acres and is Copart’s third facility in the state of Pennsylvania. The company now operates 77 locations in 36 states.
Since October 1999, Copart has added 12 locations including sites in Chesapeake, VA; Seattle WA; Denver, CO; Peoria, IL; Billerica, MA; Boise, ID; Pasco, WA; West Palm Beach, FL; Abilene, TX; San Antonio, TX; Albuquerque, NM; and Harrisburg, PA.
Founded in 1982, Copart provides vehicle suppliers—primary insurance companies—with a full menu of services to process and sell salvage vehicles through auctions, primarily to licensed dis-mantlers, re-builders and used vehicle dealers. Salvage vehicles are either damaged vehicles deemed a total loss for insurance or business purposes, or recovered stolen vehicles for which an insurance settlement with the vehicle’s owner has been made. Operating 77 facilities in 36 states, Copart also provides service to other geographic areas through its national network of independent salvage vehicle suppliers.
