Now that digital transparency often defines the appeal of a business, transport logistics providers must clue in to a more demanding, real-time clientele amid more competition and a labor shortage of drivers.
The Conference of Automotive Remarketing will hold a consignors session on March 28 that addresses some key questions: What is the value of getting logistics right, and the hidden costs of getting it wrong? If you really knew how it all worked, would you be making the same decisions? How are the expectations of vehicle and fleet consignors changing?
The session, moderated by Jeremy Louisos, senior vice president of Preowned Auto Logistics, will be held Thursday, March 28 at 9:30 am and includes the following experts:
Michele Pierog, chief strategy officer, ParkMyFleet
Paul Seger, executive vice president of asset remarketing, Element Fleet Management
Holly Vollant, manager of remarketing product, Holman
Layne Weber, senior director of wholesale remarketing sales, Avis Budget Group
“Our session is all about consignors,” Louisos said. “With subject matter experts from some of the largest fleet companies, this group offers unique insights into the logistical challenges and creative solutions often managed behind the scenes.”
Home delivery services such as Amazon have driven expectations higher than ever, he said. With the increased complexity of keeping up with new demands, consignors must be in lockstep with their transportation providers.
“Customer-centric consignors fully understand the importance of getting logistics and transportation right,” Louisos added. “Clients expect prompt deliveries and accurate updates along the way. If this doesn't happen, all the other hard work can all too easily be erased.”
Attendees can expect the following knowledge takeaways from the session:
What to do when things go wrong resulting in damage claims
Shipping rates
How to increase shipment velocity
The chain of vehicle custody
Loads vs single unit shipments
Managing the increasing diversity of vehicles/equipment being shipped
Tying together all the different streams
CAR, partnered with the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance, is being held March 26-28 at the Hilton Phoenix at the Peak in Phoenix, Arizona. Registration details here.
