Company Offers Perk for Employees to Drive a Corvette

John McEwan of McEwan’s Technology Advancement Group (TAG) has offered employees at his firm $500 a month toward leasing a new Chevrolet Corvette. McEwan said he made the offer simply as a perk to his employees. The workers had to agree to a few restrictions: They must use the cars to commute to the office. They must display special license plates bearing the company name and keep the fiberglass-bodied vehicles clean. Three employees have so far taken the deal, and a fourth has a car on order. TAG pays the full lease costs for a vice president. Workers are responsible for financing the cars and for gas and insurance. The program is available only to the 60 employees at the headquarters office.
