CODA Plans to Release All-Electric Sedan in 2010

The CODA four-door sedan will be powered by a 33.8 kwh lithium-ion battery pack, and accelerates 0-60 in less than 11 seconds.

On June 3, the budding automaker CODA revealed its plans to release a new electric car in California in fall 2010, according to Reuters. The fully electric CODA four-door sedan will have a range of 90-100 miles on a fully-charged battery.

The vehicle will be powered by a 33.8 kwh lithium-ion battery pack. It ships with a 6.6. kw charger. If plugged into a 220V AC input, a worn-out battery can charge in six hours. Batteries can also be charged from standard 110V outlets.

Additionally, the CODA sedan will have a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty and an eight-year, 100,000 mile battery warranty. The vehicle is electronically restricted to 80 mph, and accelerates from zero to 60 in less than 11 seconds.

Pricing for the vehicle will start at $45,000, according to Reuters. However, after state and federal funding, the price should be closer to the mid-$30,000.

In June 2010, CODA plans to launch a 200-car fleet test in California.
