DaimlerChrysler announced on July 22 that it has added a three-month/3,000-mile limited warranty to its Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle program. Units that qualify for the warranty already carry the seven-year/70,000-mile transferable new vehicle warranty, which includes 2003-model vehicles and those to come.
This is also in addition to the eight/80 powertrain limited warranty. “The ‘Factory Certified’ segment is booming,” said Ray Fisher, vice president of Chrysler’s fleet and remarketing. He added that the segment was on track to double in size this year for the fourth year in a row. “This additional warranty reflects the confidence we have in our product quality and gives our customers even more assurance when making their purchase decision,” Fisher said. Certified Chrysler Group vehicles sold between 1998 and 2002 with the three-year/36,000-mile new vehicle warranty will still receive an eight-year/80,000-mile fully transferable powertrain warranty, the company said.
