Chrysler 200 Recalled for Rough Transmission Shifting
Those 2015 sedans equipped with a V-6 engine may have difficulty shifting into park.

FCA US is recalling 22,107 2015 model-year Chrysler 200 sedans in the U.S., all equipped with a V-6 engine, because of potential difficulty shifting into park.
The problem stems from inconsistent manufacturing procedures at a supplier’s plant, FCA US said in a released statement. There have been five reports of customers unable to shift their vehicle into park. The automaker added that it is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.
FCA US is also recalling 3,600 Chrysler 200 vehicles in Canada and 213 in Mexico for the same problem.
To resolve the issue, dealers will conduct inspections and replace transmissions when necessary. There will be no charge for these services.
In the interim, the automaker advises owners of 2015 Chrysler 200 sedans with V-6 engines to activate the car’s parking brake before shutting off the engine. This is because the shifter may incorrectly indicate park is engaged, FCA US said.
