Over the past year, Automotive Fleet has been celebrating the contributions of women in the commercial fleet industry to recognize their contributions.
International Women's Day on March 8 gives us a chance to again celebrate these leading ladies, who have worked their way into leadership roles in the industry.
Christine Taylor, president and COO of Enterprise Holdings, shared her thoughts about the day with CNN. Taylor oversees Enterprise Ren-A-Car as well as Enterprise Fleet Management.
"When I was young, I wanted to be an ice skater," she writes. "But that didn't stop my dad from bringing me to his office on the many Saturdays he spent working hard to nurture and grow the company my grandfather founded, and our family still owns. It wasn't long before I learned the value of hard work and what it takes to run a successful family business. I listened as he had difficult conversations. And I watched him smile as he saw members of his team succeeding and, as a result, achieving personal growth and advancing the company's success."
Let's take a look back at some of the leading ladies we have profiled since we launched our monthly Women in Fleet series in January 2018.
We launched the series by profiling Ford's Michelle Bartlett, a 28-year Ford employee serving her third stint in the fleet unit.
The series has also profiled Wheels Inc.'s Laura Jozwiak; Weatherford International's Lee Pierce; Geotab's Susan Miller; General Motors Jennifer Costabile; Element Fleet Management's Kristi Webb; and Safelite's Erin Gilchrist.
Our latest profile in the March issue took a closer look at Lori Olson, fleet sales director of Pulse and vice president of Kinetech. Olson is based in the Indianapolis area and attended NTEA's The Work Truck Show.
