GM’s Cadillac brand plans to add a new option to its XTS luxury sedan, a new Twin Turbo V-6 engine. This engine can produce an SAE-certified 410 hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque.
The new Twin Turbo features a number of upgrades over the 3.6L dual overhead cam V-6 that comes standard in the XTS, according to GM. It features an all-new cylinder block casting, a patented, integrated charge air cooler system with low-volume air ducts, an all-new direct injection fuel system, and tuned air inlet and outlet resonators, aluminum cam covers, and other features that contribute to quietness and smoothness. The automaker hasn't yet released fuel-economy figures for this new engine.
