Buick is adding LED headlights, smartphone connectivity and a more sculpted design to its 2017 Encore, which appears at the New York International Auto Show.
The Encore, which pioneered the subcompact SUV category when it arrived for the 2013 model year, will now offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity paired with an 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen. The 2017 Encore will get the next-generation IntelliLink infotainment system.
Other new features include push-button start and keyless unlock via the exterior door handles.
The 2017 Encore goes on sale this fall in five trim levels, including Encore (1SB), Encore Sport Touring (1SH), Encore Convenience (1SD), Encore Leather (1SL) and Encore Premium (1SN). Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.
Buick is refreshing its lineup in 2016. The Encore is the fourth new or significantly updated vehicle, joining the Cascada convertible, Envision compact SUV and LaCrosse sedan. Encore was Buick's best-selling vehicles in North America in 2015.
