SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The Automotive Fleet and Leasing Association (AFLA) held its 2005 annual conference at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, with more than 220 fleet professionals attending the conference. Outgoing AFLA President Rick Nicoletti, general manager of the Napleton Fleet Group, passed the reigns of the presidency to Patsy Brownson, fleet director for Cox Enterprises. The event included a growing presence of commercial fleet managers. The conference agenda featured a special focus on vehicle remarketing, which included presentations on residual trends and a forecast of the wholesale used-vehicle market by industry experts Raj Sundaram of ALG, Tom Webb of Manheim, and Tom Kontos of ADESA. The conference's keynote speaker was Brian McVeigh, general manager, General Motors Fleet & Commercial Operations, who spoke on the topic “The Best is Yet to Come.” The 2006 AFLA conference will take place at the Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, Calif. on Sept. 13-15, 2006.
