R.J. and Debbie Colovich, owners of Petersen’s Auto Auction of Reno, on Oct. 5, 2000 announced the sale of the auction to Brasher’s Auto Auctions. The first auction to be held under the Brasher’s banner is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2. The purchase of the Reno facility brings to five the total number of auctions owned and operated by the Brasher family in the Western United States. Jay Brasher and his family currently own and operate the Salt Lake Auto Auction. Larry Brasher and his family operate the Sacramento, Cascade and Northwest Auto Auctions. Jay and Larry Brasher will jointly own and operate Brasher’s Reno Auto Auction. According to Jeff Brasher, who will head operations as general manager at Brasher’s Reno Auto Auction, the auction will relocate to a 50-acre site in the Reno area in the spring or early summer of next year. Brasher’s Reno Auto Auction will offer the full line of auction services associated with the other four Brasher’s facilities, including full computerization, dealer financing, transport services, reconditioning, fleet/lease and bank/finance personnel, and repossession services.
