BOSTON --- CityView Trolley Tours has been awarded $100,000 from the Department of Energy to purchase two trolleys that run on compressed natural gas (CNG). The funding was made through the department's Clean Cities program and administered by the Massachusetts Division of Energy, according to a report from NGV Global, a news service from the International Association for Natural Gas Vehicles. KeySpan Energy submitted the grant application on behalf of CityView Trolley Tours last year. "Drivers, tourists and pedestrians will all benefit from cleaner air as these new CNG trolleys are placed into service in the summer of 2007," said Michael Thomas, owner of CityView Trolleys. The trolleys are built on a Freightliner MB-55 chassis, with Dynetek CNG cylinders and Cummins-Westport 5.9L CNG engines.
