BMW's 2016 3 Series Adds PHEV
BMW is redesigning its 3 Series luxury sedan for 2016 and adding two new models, including a plug-in hybrid that will join the lineup later in the year.

BMW is redesigning its 3 Series luxury sedan for 2016 and adding two new models, including a plug-in hybrid that will join the lineup later in the year.
BMW is adding the more powerful 340i that will replace the 335i. The 340i gets a B58 turbocharged 3.0L inline-six that makes 320 hp and 330 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is paired with a standard 8-speed automatic transmission or an optional manual. The vehicle is available with xDrive.
The 330e plug-in hybrid should produce a total output of 250 hp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque, according to BMW. The electric range is estimated at 22 miles.
BMW is also updating the styling and offering a new Track Handling Package for gasoline-powered models, optional navigation system with over-the-air map updates, and LED headlights standard on the 340i and optional on the 320i, 328i, 328d models.
