Audi Unveils Q5 Design and Tech Updates
Updates to the 2026 Audi A5 and Q5 bring redesigned infotainment, expanded driver assistance, and new hardware features aimed at improving usability and efficiency for fleet and retail drivers.

Audi has announced a series of hardware and software updates for the 2026 A5 and Q5 model lines, introducing new infotainment design elements, updated controls, expanded driver assistance features, and additional standard content. The updates will be available on 2026 A5 and Q5 models arriving at U.S. dealerships in the first quarter of 2026.
All 2026 A5 and Q5 models will also include Audi Signature Care scheduled maintenance for the first three years or 30,000 miles.

Audi is introducing a new design language across the Audi Digital Stage displays in the 2026 A5 and Q5. The updated interface The updated interface applies to the center MMI display, the Audi virtual cockpit, and the available front passenger display.

The center MMI display features fewer lists and more graphical elements to improve usability and reduce distractions. Third-party apps appear in color, while Audi apps use a brighter monochrome layout. The interface also adds a persistent clock display and updated animations for the Audi digital assistant.
The Audi virtual cockpit display has been simplified with reduced icons and a clearer layout. Drivers can toggle between three views using the steering wheel controls:
Classic instrument view
Navigation-focused view
Integrated driver assistance view
A fixed display area for time and outside temperature remains visible across all views.
Smartphone integration has been expanded, allowing navigation, media, and phone functions to appear directly in both the virtual cockpit and center display.
The available front passenger display adopts the same design updates and now supports Bluetooth headphones, allowing passengers to use entertainment apps without audio playing through the vehicle speakers.
Updated Steering Wheel And Trim-Level Changes
All 2026 A5 and Q5 models receive an updated multifunction steering wheel with the return of a physical scroll wheel.
For the 2026 Audi A5:
Premium trim adds a top view camera system and heated steering wheel
Remote engine start is added to Audi Connect Care
Premium Plus adds the optional Audi dashcam and a new Technology package
Prestige trim adds park assist pro with remote functionality, rear emergency brake assist, and a 3D top view camera
An S Sport suspension is newly available, and select trims offer updated Warm Weather and S line black optic packages.
For the 2026 Audi Q5 and Q5 Sportback:
Premium trim adds expanded Audi drive select customization and remote engine start
Panoramic sunroof becomes standard on the Q5 SUV
Premium Plus adds the Audi dashcam and optional Technology package
Prestige trim adds park assist pro with remote functionality, rear emergency brake assist, and a 3D top view camera
Optional black optic packages are available on select Q5 trims, with illuminated Audi rings offered as an accessory.
New Integrated Dashcam
A new high-resolution dashcam is available across the 2026 A5 and Q5 lineups. Integrated into the base of the interior rearview mirror, the camera records 4K video using HDR technology.
Key dashcam features include:
Manual and automatic recording activation
Event recording that captures 30 seconds before and after an incident
Optional triggers tied to emergency braking or hazard light activation
Local storage via owner-supplied SD card
Playback directly on the MMI display
No data is transmitted outside the vehicle.

New Drive Modes And Assist Features
Audi has added a new dynamic plus drive select mode for the 2026 S5. The mode adjusts drivetrain response, torque vectoring, and stability control to allow more direct driver control while maintaining electronic oversight.
A new Audi drive select assistant is available on Prestige trims of the A5, Q5, Q5 Sportback, S5, and SQ5. When activated, the system automatically adjusts drive settings based on driving conditions and driver behavior.
The optional park assist pro system gains additional functionality for 2026, including:
Reverse assist steering for up to 150 feet
Maneuver assist for tight parking situations
Trained parking for storing up to five parking maneuvers
Garage parking via smartphone on equipped models
These features are standard on Prestige trims.

Enhanced Voice Assistant And Connectivity
The Audi assistant now supports voice access to information from the owner’s manual and allows voice operation of certain driver assistance systems. The system can also recognize repeated driver behaviors and automate selected routines.
Additional updates include expanded in-car gaming options, Bluetooth controller support, and the ability for passengers to use wireless headphones with the front passenger display.
Availability And Pricing
The 2026 Audi A5 and Q5 models are expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships in the first quarter of 2026. Starting MSRPs are:
