Audi Unveils A4 Avant Wagon

GENEVA – Audi will unveil its A4 Avant wagon at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show. A 3.2L V-6, rated at 265 hp, will be optional for both the A4 sedan and wagon in the U.S. market. The base engine will be a new turbocharged four-cylinder. The redesigned A4 sedan and wagon go on sale in the United States this fall, according to www.autoweek.com.
Audi also said that all A4 wagons sold in the United States will be fitted with the quattro all-wheel-drive system. Along with a retuned suspension, Audi developed a five-link front axle for the Avant, based on the same technology as in the sedan version.Interior features in the A4 will include redesigned standard climate controls and a new safety system. The safety system will help control the force of airbag deployment as well as seatbelt tension depending on seat position and accident severity.
The new A4 Avant will offer a broad range of options, such as the Audi parking system, Audi Music Interface (AMI), Bluetooth connectivity, air-conditioned seats, three-zone climate control, and a Bang & Olufsen 505-watt, 14-speaker stereo. Three trim levels will be available: Attraction, Ambition, and Ambiente. The S line package is offered additionally, with sportier suspension components and trim items.
Pricing has yet to be announced for the 2009 Audi A4 Avant.
