Audi R8 Gets First Full LED Headlamp — But Not for U.S. Yet
AUBURN HILLS, MI – The Audi R8 will have what is being described as the world’s first full LED headlamp technology — but it is not coming to the U.S. just yet.

The Audi R8 will have what is being described as the world’s first full LED
headlamp technology — but it is not coming to the
U.S. just yet, according to Audi. The
optional LED headlamps, priced at the equivalent of $5,564, are available
immediately in Europe.
Audi of
America spokesman Christian Bokich told Inside
Line in an e-mail message, “At the moment, no timing or availability info
is yet available for the
United
States, but it’s not being ruled out for our
market.”
The new headlamp technology bundles full LED low/high beams, as well as full LED turn signals. Audi said it uses 54 high-performance LEDs.
