Audi Details Updates to 2014 Models

Audi detailed the changes to its 2014 model-year vehicles, including the A6, A7, A8 and Q5. For 2014, one major change is that Audi offers TDI clean diesel variants for each of those models.

Audi detailed the changes to its 2014 model-year vehicles, including the A6, A7, A8 and Q5. For 2014, one major change is that Audi offers TDI clean diesel variants for each of those models.

For the A4, Audi said it a turbocharged 2.0L TFSI four-cylinder engine and increased hp to 220. The Convenience package, which includes Bluetooth, Homelink, Audi music interface and driver information system, is standard on the Premium model. A new S line style package is available, and the Cold Weather Package features rear split folding seats. MMI Navigation is also available. The Premium Plus and Prestige models feature a standard S line exterior and a new 18-inch 10-spoke exclusive RS-design wheel. Audi advanced key is offered as part of the Premium Plus package, and Audi drive select is now standard on all S4 models.

For the new Audi allroad (wagon) models, which are now available again in the U.S., the automaker updated the vehicle’s 2.0L TFSI engine’s hp to 220. The allroad also comes in two new colors, Cuvee Silver and Dakota Gray. Audi advanced key comes with the Premium Plus package. Prestige models of the allroad will include manual side window sunshades for 2014. Lastly, Audi side assist will be available as a standalone option on the Premium Plus model.

For the 2014 A6, the A6 TDI is new and gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 24 city, 38 highway, 29 combined mpg. Hp is 240 and torque is 428 lb.-ft. The A6 3.0T and TDI start with the Premium Plus trim grade. This trim level features standard Audi Navigation plus with Google Earth mapping, Audi connect, Audi advanced key, Xenon plus headlights, Audi parking system plus, and 18-inch wheels. The 2.0T entry-level model features Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive and a new option package that comes with Xenon plus headlights and an 18-inch wheel upgrade.

The A7 model line also features a TDI clean diesel variant for 2014. The A7 TDI provides 24 city, 38 highway, 29 mpg combined mpg and 240 hp and 428 lb.-ft. of torque. The A7 3.0T and TDI both start with the Premium Plus equipment level. This level comes with Audi Navigation plus with Google Earth and Audi connect. For 2014, A7 variants are now five-passenger cars, while the S7 and RS 7 (a new high-performance model variant for 2014) only offer a four-passenger configuration.

The A8 TDI gets fuel economy of 24 city, 36 highway, 28 combined mpg, according to Audi. The normal wheelbase A8 models come with a standard convenience package, including power door closers, Audi advanced key with hands-free power trunk release, and the Audi parking system with rearview camera. The Premium package option on the 2014 A8 includes Audi side assist, full LED headlights, and 22-way front seats with ventilation and massage features. Audi side assist and Audi pre sense rear are now standard on S8 and W12 models, according to the company.

For the Q5 model line, a TDI clean diesel is available that gets an EPA-estimated 24 city, 31 highway, 27 combined MPG and 240 hp and 428 lb.-ft. of torque. The Convenience package is standard on the Q5 2.0T models (the engine’s hp is now 220, similar to other updated 2014 Audi models). Audi advanced key comes with all Premium Plus and Prestige trim lines, and Premium Plus models will now have Audi side assist available as a standalone option. Audi is also offering an S high-performance variant of the Q5, the SQ5, for 2014. Features include S model front and rear bumpers with Platinum Gray grille and diffuser, Aluminum exterior mirror housings and quad exhaust tips on the outside, and Leather/Alcantara sport seats are standard and Fine Nappa interior and comfort package inside. The SQ5 comes with standard 20-inch wheels and Audi offers optional 21-inch wheels for this model.

The 2014 Q7 features Xenon plus headlights as standard and the Premium Plus model includes Audi advanced key and a power steering column. The Q7 TDI can achieve an EPA estimated 19 city, 28 highway, 22 combined mpg, according to the automaker.
