AUBURN HILLS, MI — Audi of America told Inside Line that the Audi Q5 SUV is slated for a U.S. rollout in early 2009, most likely as a 2010-model-year vehicle, according to the Web site, www.edmunds.com. The U.S. launch lags about six months behind the European launch of the Q5, which is around July 2008. The A4-based Q5 will not be introduced at the upcoming 2008 Detroit Auto Show, he added. Christian Bokich, Audi of America spokesman, said the unveiling of the Q5 will take place in the "first half of [next] year." That leaves such possible venues as the Geneva auto show in March and the Beijing auto show in April. According to Edmunds.com, Bokich would not confirm engine specifications for the Q5, although it is expected that the U.S. version of the Q5 will be available with both four-cylinder and V-6 engines.
