AMP Research BedStep Receives 2006 DaimlerChrysler Design Excellence Award
IRVINE, CA – AMP Research was awarded the DaimlerChrysler Design Excellence Award for its newly introduced BedStep at the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Oct. 31. The BedStep is a manually operated tailgate step that provides easy access to the truck bed from the rear bumper.
IRVINE, CA – AMP Research was awarded the DaimlerChrysler Design Excellence Award for its newly introduced BedStep at the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Oct. 31. The BedStep is a manually operated tailgate step that provides easy access to the truck bed from the rear bumper. When it is not in use, it stores underneath the bumper. According to the Chrysler Group, the BedStep demonstrated the highest degree of overall quality and craftsmanship among all products introduced for current Chrysler vehicles. This design award was given specifically for its applicability to Dodge trucks. The BedStep, was one of multiple AMP Research products featured on an Interstate themed Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab. This project vehicle, inspired by the massive big rigs that travel the interstate highways, demonstrated the high ground clearance of today’s large trucks and the need for a tailgate step to access the bed from the rear bumper area. Made of high strength aluminum, and attractively powder coated in black, the AMP Research BedStep supports up to 300 lbs. and is being developed for a wide range of applications.
