ALG Announces Residual Value Awards

LOS ANGELES – ALG has announced its 14th annual Residual Value Awards, which recognize vehicles in different segments that the organization forecasts will retain the highest percentage of MSRP after a three-year period.

LOS ANGELES – ALG has announced its 14th annual Residual Value Awards, which recognize vehicles in different segments that the organization forecasts will retain the highest percentage of MSRP after a three-year period.

In the Midsize Car segment, the Honda Accord came in first, the Subaru Legacy took second place, and the Nissan Altima took third. In the Compact Car segment, the Hyundai Elantra came in first, the Scion tC came in second, and the Mazda3 took the number three spot.

ALG stated that among the mainstream brands, Hyundai ranked second behind Honda. Scion, which joined ALG’s Residual Value Award rankings for the first time, ranked third. Infiniti and Audi ranked second and third, respectively, among the Premium segment brands. Lexus, which was last year's highest ranked brand, according to ALG, fell to the number four spot.

Toyota took home the most awards, with six for Toyota and three for Lexus. In ALG’s Alternative Fuel segments, the Toyota Prius c and Mercedes-Benz ML350 BlueTEC received awards. Among Premium brands, Lexus took home segment awards for its redesigned GS and LS models (in the Premium Fullsize Car and Premium Executive Car segments, respectively). MINI received awards for the Cooper (in the Premium Compact Car segment) and Cooper Countryman (in the Sub Compact Utility Vehicle segment).
