AFVi Conference Highlights Advanced Technologies
LAS VEGAS --- The Alternative Fuels & Vehicles National Conference & Expo, held May 11-14 in Las Vegas, placed a spotlight on a number of evolving technologies of interest to fleet managers.
LAS VEGAS --- The Alternative Fuels & Vehicles National Conference & Expo, held May 11-14 in Las Vegas, placed a spotlight on a number of evolving technologies of interest to fleet managers. The event was presented by the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute.
According to NGVAmerica, a major participant in the conference, highlights included the following:
-- Sterling introduced its new "L Series" LNG-powered tractor with Cummins Westport Inc.'s 8.9L ISL-G 2010 compliant engine
-- IMPCO featured its new 6.0L bi-fuel system in a Chevy 2500HD
-- With a little assistance from Clean Energy, BAF Technologies featured its 4.6L engine systems in a Crown Vic and Lincoln Town Car and its E350 cargo van and its newly certified F150 --– both featuring the 5.4L engine
-- Baytech Corp. highlighted availability of its 6.0LHD and 8.1L GM engine retrofits systems (and its recent UPS order for several hundred new walk-in vans)
-- FuelTek announced its new EPA certification for the 5.4L F250 and F350
-- Natural Drive featured a soon-to-be-EPA-certified 3.5L engine system in a Chevy Impala
-- NO-Motions introduced its soon-to-be approved Onyx CNG cylinders
-- Westport Innovations displayed a Kenworth T800 Class 8 tractor with Westport’s 15.0L ISX-G LNG-powered engine and
-- American Honda introduced the FCX Clarity, its fourth-generation fuel cell vehicle.
