ADESA, Inc., has named John Beede to the position of director of training and development. An undergraduate of economics at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C. and a graduate of human resource development and management at Webster University in St. Louis, Beede began his professional career with General Electric in 1975 as a financial management trainee. By 1978, Beede was promoted to GE’s Corporate Audit staff. After working in several financial positions with GE, Beede entered GE’s Appliance Business Training Department where he managed a $1.5 million organization with 15 consultants. Before joining ADESA, Inc., Beede founded Leadership International, a global leadership development consulting business. As director of training and development for ADESA, Inc., Beede will be charged with creating and sustaining a learning environment for all employees. This responsibility will include managing ADESA University and enhancing its current offerings. He will report to Brenda Flayton, chief administrative officer for ADESA, Inc.
