ADESA Corp. hosted a dedication ceremony Oct. 28 at a 280 acre site in Fairburn, GA, for what will become ADESA Atlanta in 2003. The new location in South Fulton County is ap-proximately eight miles south of the Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport. The new ADESA Atlanta will be part of Southpark, a 1,200-acre industrial park located off Interstate 85 and Highway 74. The auction will feature eight fully automated auction lanes, a technology center that offers digital imaging and an assembly line layout for condition reports. The facility will also feature a body, paint and reconditioning shop and an eight-lane vehicle check-in area and storage for over 6,500 vehicles. Currently located in Newnan, Ga., ADESA Atlanta employs over 200 people. Weekly consignment and factory sales take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with a monthly heavy-duty truck sale on Thursday. Major accounts include DaimlerChrysler, Bank One, CitiCapital Fleet, Wachovia Bank, Wheels, Inc., WFS, SunTrust Bank, Onyx Acceptance, Household Auto Finance, The Finance Company, Congress Financial, PAR, RSA, SST, Union Acceptance, American Investment Bank, PHH, Budget Rent-a-Car, Dollar Rent-a-Car and Thrifty Rent-a-Car.
