AALA Board of Directors Gather For Winter 2004 Meeting

Featuring a keynote address by Dr. Barry Samus, senior economist for
the National Center for Policy Analysis, the American Automotive Leasing
Association (AALA) held its Winter 2004 board of directors meeting March
14-16 at the Turnberry Isle Resort and Club in Aventura.
Speaking
at the meeting’s opening reception, Samus discussed the “Prospects
for and State of the American Economy."
The meeting’s general business session included a presentation
by David Powell, president and CEO of Canadian Finance & Leasing
Association and a panel discussion on energy. The panel featured Bill
Becker, executive director, State and Territorial Air Pollution Program;
Administrators Association of Local Air Pollution Control officials;
Gil Sperling, Esq., Counselors, Inc.; and David R. Hill, Esq. deputy
general counsel for Energy Policy, U.S. Department of Energy. AALA meeting
attendees also heard a presentation by Gary Lapidus, senior industry
analyst, Goldman, Sachs & Co.
