2025 Nissan Kicks Features New Design and Intelligent AWD [Updated]

The redesigned Kicks features more cargo space and tech, including available Intelligent AWD, which adds a "Snow" driving mode that adjusts the logic of the all-wheel-drive and vehicle dynamic control systems with tuning specifically intended for slippery surfaces.

The 2025 Nissan Kicks, with new features inside and out, is now available to order. Nissan virtually debuted the redesigned Kicks with an an interactive experience in Brooklyn, New York, at the opening rounds of the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at Barclays Center in March.

Pricing for the 2025 Kicks starts at $21,830, less than a $500 increase over the previous generation model.

Advanced Tech and More Power

The addition of available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, a first for Kicks, gives retail and fleet drivers alike more confidence on the road in clear or inclement weather.

Kicks models with AWD add a "Snow" driving mode that adjusts the logic of the all-wheel-drive and vehicle dynamic control systems with tuning specifically intended for slippery surfaces. Yaw control using targeted brake application helps further ensure Kicks stays on the driver's intended line when cornering in snow or ice.

As an added benefit when navigating rough roads or snow, Kicks has a ground clearance of 8.4 in.

Every Kicks includes standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 for added driver reassurance. Available ProPILOT Assist combines steering assistance with Intelligent Cruise Control to help drivers stay centered within their lane. 

Standard features include Easy-Fill Tire Alert, which makes topping up tire air pressure simpler; Rear Door Alert, which can notify the driver about potentially forgotten items; and Intelligent Driver Alertness, which can warn if the driver's behavior suggests they may be fatigued.

Kicks SR adds Intelligent Around View Monitor, offering a virtual 360-degree, bird's-eye camera view around the vehicle to simplify parking, avoiding curbs, and easing other low-speed maneuvers.

All Kicks grades employ a 2.0-liter inline-four engine rated for 141 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque, coupled to the latest generation of Nissan's Xtronic transmission. The powertrain delivers confident acceleration, including for highway passing, thanks to the responsive transmission and the engine's strong low- and mid-range torque.

"The all-new Kicks invigorates the small crossover segment with its expressive design, confident driving experience and enhanced technology offering," said Ponz Pandikuthira, senior vice president and chief planning officer of Nissan Americas. "With standout product changes and class-leading capabilities, Kicks demonstrates how Nissan brings thrill to all vehicle segments in a way that makes every drive better."

Upgrades, Inside and Out

The wide stance and fenders on the redesigned Kicks give way to a more rounded, protected cabin, according to a news release. Strong fenders and a distinctive boxiness define the lower half of the vehicle, compared to the cleaner upper body.

Both rows of seats use Nissan's Zero Gravity seating design, helping distribute weight and pressure across the occupants' bodies for a more comfortable seating position to help reduce fatigue.

Inside, the dashboard features a dual-screen setup: one for the instrument meter, one for the infotainment system. The standard meter measures 7 in., while Kicks SR upgrades to a 12.3-in. unit with two display modes: Classic and Enhanced. A new-design steering wheel features a flat bottom.

A first for Kicks, both rows of seats use Nissan's Zero Gravity seating design, helping distribute weight and pressure across the occupants' bodies for a more comfortable seating position to help reduce fatigue.

Compared to the 2024 Kicks, front shoulder room has increased by 1.7 in., while rear-seat passengers will see an additional 0.9 in. of knee room and 1.5 in. more shoulder room.

The Kicks has a total cargo capacity of up to 30 cu. ft. with the seats raised or 60 cu. ft. with them lowered. A small, hidden storage compartment is available below the trunk floor.

A flexible luggage board for the SV and SR grades offers two levels for the trunk floor, so drivers can optimize the cargo room they need.

In the upper position it is easier to slide items in and out of the trunk, and there's a completely flat floor with the second-row seats folded. When the floor is in its lower position, significantly taller items can be carried.
