Nissan's 2018 Altima will increase its base starting price $640 to $24,025 as it adds automatic braking and a frontal pre-collision warning as standard equipment, Nissan has announced.
Nissan will offer the 2018 Altima in four trim grades, including the S, SR, SV, and SL with two engine options, including a 2.5-liter four-cylinder (179 horsepower) and 3.5-liter V-6 (270 hp). Nissan pairs the engines with its Xtronic continuously variable transmission with D-Step shift logic.
Nissan is simplifying its Altima trims by eliminating the base 2.5 and 3.5 SR, meaning the V-6 is now only available of the top-trim SL. Pricing has been set for the 2.5 SR ($25,085), 2.5 SV ($26,670), 2.5 SL ($29,880), and 3.5 SL ($34,395).
For 2018, Nissan's Automatic Emergency Braking and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning arrive as standard equipment across the lineup. The 3.5 SL adds Intelligent Cruise Control and NissanConnect with Navigation and Services, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Optional equipment includes a 7-inch color audio display and hands-free messaging assistant.
