California Tops Gasoline Prices Again

According to the WEX Index of fuel prices across the country, California once again leads with the highest pump prices in the nation. All the cities in the top 10 highest-priced locations in the Index were above the national average of $1.41 per gallon, but San Francisco and Los Angeles exceeded the average by 20 cents or more per gallon.

Some Utah lawmakers are considering raising the state’s fuel tax next year. According to published reports, legislators say a 5- to 10-cent increase may be considered during the 2003 legislative session to pay for transportation projects.
