The first day of NAFA I&E 2019 was host to numerous concurrent educational sessions for attendees, workshops for fleets of a variety of segments, a keynote luncheon on how future and existing technologies impact fleets, and more.
The I&E, held this year in Louisville, Ky, kicked off with the official launch of the Association’s new “NAFA Communities” during the opening day breakfast, which is an online virtual community that allows fleets of every segment to share best practices through NAFA's official website. NAFA Communities offers a discussion forum, a section to share files, and details about upcoming events.
After this was series of workshops that appealed to fleets of varying segments, including corporate, government, pharmaceutical, university and utility fleets. This was followed by a stream of concurrent sessions that covered a variety of topics, including reducing fleet spend, best driving practices, reducing fleet carbon footprints, and more.
Later there was a welcome keynote presentation luncheon by Chris Riddell, digital futurist keynote speaker, who discussed how current and future technologies are impacting fleet, which included: the sharing economy, blockchain, augmented intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
This was followed by another string concurrent sessions, covering everything from best practices for fleet data privacy and the practicality of car sharing for fleets.
The day was rounded out by an evening reception at the Omni Louisville Hotel, which included a replicated horse race gambling Derby experience, and ample networking opportunities.
