General Motors officials announced on December 8 that the company will relocate approximately 900 people from OnStar's headquarters operations in Troy. The relocation is scheduled to begin late in 2004. OnStar, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors, is expected to occupy office space in Tower 400. "This move is a continuation of efforts to reduce leased office space and to further execute GM's southeast Michigan campus strategy," said Matthew P. Cullen, general manager, Economic Development and Enterprise Services. "OnStar's move will help reduce GM's structural costs and increase operating efficiencies."
