Consumer Reports has named Michelin as the Best Tire Brand by its tire-testing team.
The brands that performed the best after Michelin included Continental, Goodyear and Pirelli. Hankook, Cooper, Nokian, and Yokohama tied for fifth place.
Consumer Reports judged 170 tires in nine categories to determine a winner. Michelin placed first in five out of the nine categories including all-season, performance all-season, ultra-high performance, winter, and truck.
This is not the first time Michelin has been at the top of CR’s tire ratings. Michelin’s truck tires have taken nods for Best All-Season Truck and Winter Truck in 2014.
CR acknowledges Michelin’s perfect blend of grip, handling, low rolling resistance for good fuel economy and long tread life.
One of the other top performing brands in the most recent report was Continental. CR notes these tires have impressive handling and grip and are attractive in their price.
