Hyundai on July 5 issued a summary of changes to its new vehicle line-up for the 2024 model year. Those new models include the Kona and Kona Electric.

2024 Kona Electric

Two battery systems: 48.6 kWh battery system delivers and estimated range of 197 miles while the available 64.8-kWh battery system delivers an estimated range of 260 miles based on preliminary internal Hyundai tests. Kona Electric offers 400V DC fast charging, vehicle-to-load capability (V2L), i-PEDAL driving mode, smart regenerative system, and active grille shutters.

2024 Santa Cruz

The 2024 Santa Cruz introduces an addition to the lineup, along with a wider range of everyday technology applications.

The Santa Cruz XRT trim expands on the Tucson XRT, Santa Fe XRT, and Palisade XRT models. Replacing the SEL Premium trim from the previous model year, the Santa Cruz XRT is positioned just below the Limited trim level, offering advanced features and content that surpass the SEL with activity package.

The XRT trim aims to deliver an exceptional driving experience, blending adventure with everyday practicality. Its feature content builds on top of the SEL with Activity Package, and includes:

  • 2.5T GDI/MPI Engine with 8-speed wet-type DCT & paddle shifters

  • HTRAC AWD

  • Smart cruise control with stop and go

  • Black H-Tex seating surfaces

  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob

  • Hyundai digital key

  • Auto-dimming rearview mirror

  • XRT-exclusive wheel center caps (orange)

  • XRT emblem on tailgate

  • Black door handles and mirror caps

  • Wide fender flares

  • Lower door garnish

  • Bed rails

  • Side steps

  • Matte black “SANTA CRUZ” lettering on tailgate

  • Dark front & rear fascias

  • Dark chrome grille and tailgate handle trim

Other elements that have been updated for 2024 model year include:

  • Bi-LED projector headlamps now standard for all 24MY Santa Cruz models

  • Dual-zone automatic temperature control and auto defogger are now included from SEL trim level and up

  • 10.25” navigation is now included from the SEL with activity package and up

  • Black H-Tex seating surfaces now included with night trim
