Mazda North American Operations announced the first-ever 2024 CX-90 will be available as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
The 2024 CX-90 is set to make its world premiere in January 2023.
While this is Mazda's first plug-in hybrid in the U.S., the CX-90 PHEV will maintain the responsiveness, performance, and driving dynamics that are recognized with Mazda vehicles, according to the company's news release. This new e-Skyactiv powertrain is tuned specifically for the North American market.
Automotive Fleet highlighted the 2023 Mazda CX-50, defining it as an all-new, rugged, and capable crossover SUV that will appeal to fleets that require vehicles that can be used in both on-road and off-road fleet applications. Read more on the test drive of the new CX-50.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recognized the 2023 Mazda CX-50 with its highest safety accolade back in September. The new, small SUV recently rolled away with a 2022 Top Safety Pick+ award.
Mazda continues to roll on into the new year, as the company announced the pricing and packaging for the 2023 CX-30. Compared to the previous model year, the naturally aspirated Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine for 2023 will have an increase of five horsepower and two mpg in each of the EPA estimated figures of city, highway, and combined.
The pricing announcements don't stop there. Mazda announced package information and pricing for its 2023-MY three-row midsize crossover SUV, the CX-9. A Sport model was not included in the lineup announcement for 2023, which was its lowest-priced model in 2022. The base Touring model's MSRP comes in $1,320 above the 2022 price.
