In Memoriam: Gerry Huzar, 1950-2011

January 3, 2012

TORONTO, CANADA – Gerry Huzar, long-time fleet manager for Nabisco Brands Ltd. in Toronto, Canada, passed away on Dec. 31, 2011, from Burkitt’s lymphoma and brain cancer. He was 61. Huzar was an active member of NAFA and held a number of positions with NAFA Ontario Chapter, including chapter chair. He also served on the NAFA Board of Trustees as vice president for Canada from 2000-2002.

Following his retirement from Nabsico in 2004, Huzar partnered with David Ogilvie, retired fleet manager for Hewlett Packard (Canada) Ltd. and past NAFA president, to form Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) – a company designed to meet the needs of businesses that currently operate fleets without an in-house administrator.

Huzar was born July 10, 1950. He is survived by his wife, Lesia, and daughter Anna.
