ST. LOUIS – Automotive Fleet’s 2011 Professional Fleet Manager of the Year Theresa Belding, senior manager of fleet services for Forest Pharmaceuticals, presented a $10,000 scholarship check to Ranken Technical College Oct. 25.
The scholarship was provided by the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA), which co-sponsors the annual AF award with Wheels Inc. As part of its co-sponsorship, AFLA provides to Fleet Manager of the Year Award winners a $5,000 scholarship to bestow upon the business school of their choice. This year, Forest Pharmaceuticals is providing a matching amount of $5,000, for a total scholarship amount of $10,000.
The school plans to split the $10,000 into 10 $1,000 scholarship awards, established as the “Fleet Management Scholarship.”
The awards will be distributed to students identified as showing an interest in fleet management as a way to encourage them to pursue that certificate at Ranken.
